On the way to St. Mary Lake we stopped at a pull-out and got a shot of the mountains at or near Logan Pass (the first images). St. Mary Lake is the second-largest in the park, after Lake McDonald. On its western side are two outcroppings, from which one can get good photographs: Wild Goose Island Overlook and Sun Point. We took the trail from Sun Point down to Baring Falls, and indeed got images that pleased. The most recent fire in the park killed many of the trees, though their trunks were still standing. I found the contrast of the white trunks and the mountains and skies striking.
