Description
Unlike much of the rock in this region, which appears to be smoothed by tons of ice from a glacial age, this rock looks like it was melted. This might reflect the impact of a giant meteor, whose high pressures and temperatures melted the surrounding rock, creating the third-largest crater on Earth about 1,849 million years ago.
