Description
The French River is very broad in the North Channel near Eighteen-Mile Island. At what is probably its broadest point, there is an inlet with what looks like a door — doorposts and lintel. It’s hidden behind trees now, but you get an idea of the size of the rock face, in front of which the water goes down over a hundred feet, as I recall. Here is the “toe” of the rock face.
